# Market Makers

Bring an existing market-making engine to Takapu Protocol.

Takapu Protocol lets a Market Maker turn an existing market-making engine into a propAMM without replacing its pricing, inventory, risk, or hedging systems.

## Keep your edge

The Market Maker remains responsible for pricing, available depth, inventory, risk limits, hedging, and settlement capital. Takapu Protocol standardizes the executable state that downstream participants can understand.

## Publish executable liquidity

1. Produce prices and available depth from your existing engine.
2. Sign the quote as a versioned Market Frame.
3. Publish Market Frames through a Market Stream for subscribed Execution Routers.
4. Fund and operate your Market Maker Vault / Contract for direct settlement.

The result is an independent, executable propAMM that can be reached through the Takapu Protocol execution standard.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.takapu.org/discover/built-for/market-makers.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
